tuesday went to watch wallace and gromit!

damn nice can! and very farnie. xD

i like the part where gromit and the bulldog were fighting on the toy airplane. then ran out of coins. gromit passes stick to bulldog, search for coins. bulldog passes stick back to gromit, fishes out a lady handbag and inserts coin into the airplane. then the airplane started flying and they started fighting again. wahahahas. farnie.

and we watched it in a private cinema!!! small one but hey! it was cosy! only for lasallians+ex-lasallians! cos got free tickets mah. then because jieying was featured on kids central then all the "plant people" got free tickets. (leying saw jieying.) then i saw sylvia with clement. and i saw ms judy yip, and ms panday, and lots of school teachers!!!! (((:

all that we have prepared in the last 7 months was gone in 2 and a 1/2 hours.

and 2 and a 1/2 hours didnt seem long.

ow. wait. my gum hurts.

anyway. this morning went for dental. the stupid dentist EARLIER DUN PUT, LATER DUN PUT, MUST PUT TODAY. WHY MUSTY PUT THE BRACKETS TODAY? TODAY? WHEN THERE'S CONCERT???

i was being pissed off with the stupid dentist. and that's why the brackets is practically piercing into my gums now. and there's blood. ya. no big deal -.-

then rushed to school and saw percussion coming into school gate. then we went to band room, took attendance, exchanged presents, tuned up, warmed, practiced some, then went down to audi. tune, warm up, sort of go through until 5.40 and went outside auditorium to have dinner. then went to band room to change and exchange somemore presents.

thenwe rushed down to audi and took our instruments backstage to wait for the audience to come in. then i began to be nervous. everyone was hugging each other. (me and jasmine too bad lah. holding double bass so only can hug double bass.) and jasmine was encouraging me.

"......you can do it one ok... cos you got he potential in you...... even though you dont like double bass, but since you got the chance to learn how to play it, just treasure your chance......."

and i was really touched. it all reminded me off the day of passing down.

"......you guys have potential one ok...... dont look down on yourself......"-aiwen.

amd elaine kept asking me for copacabana's rhythm.

then we went on stage. the amount of audience was depressing at first. sylvia promised a full-house. then as time went by, the number of audiences increased and it wasnt so depressing afterall. then we started with rosa.

once the music started, i wasnt nervous. we were the music while the music lasts. we were music. and then it all went like a musical dream. we played. all the solos were nice.

rosa was ok. then after rosa, some of the audiences who came late started spilling in again, which made more than full house. then simple gifts was quite nice. rhapsody. yan zhen was brilliant! ha. then festivo was good. except for rouhui's solo. haha. then ray charles was ok. all the standing stuff was good! :)

then intermission. helped perc to put lightsticks, went out of audi to meet people.

then after intermission was perc enzem. Japanese impressions. the lightsticks didnt show much, but chiristal's and huijuan's movements were impressive. me and jasmine took turns holding basses and watching percussion. then we went in for finale. I THINK WE RAWKED FINALE! AND NINETIES!!! the audience LOVED nineties. :) i was enjoying myself for those two pieces. then gershwin. screwed up abit on the last page. played wrong notes. x( then it was the end.

im jolly screwed. band sounded horrible today. i aint getting enough sleep and im not going to. and i cant even enjoy sleep BEFORE my holiday. what crap is this.

yesterday

yesterday was liang zhen's birthday. went to kap for lunch with percussion. it was quite fun lah. we went to order our lunch, then jasmine, hui juan and patricia all said they had stomachache and needed to use the toilet. then they secretly went to buy a cake for liangzhen. then we were all singing happy birthday to liang zhen in macdonalds. haha. i think we went pretty loud.

then percussion stayed back to practice percussion enzem. i think japanese impressions is very cute!!!! it sounded very japanese to me at first, but got familiar with it later then i found it was very fun. and i loke hui juan's part.

and jasmine damn slow! we were in the auditorium seats and watching percussion perform when she suddenly said: "oh my god! look! christal so pro!!!!!!"

and i was like: "oh my god! why you so slow?"

then chungyan gave out reindeer bands (what is it called?) for us to put on for the last song. christmas song mah. then we thought they were cute, just that i think those bands were meant for kids, not us teenagers who had big heads, cos the bands were too small. sheesh.

then after band jasmine jiaying and hui juan were teaching me how to play taidi and i was like "er............"

then i think they gave up on me. cos i looked hopeless.

today

went for bass lesson in the morning. i think she was quite pleased with me, cos she was rather in a happy mood. then there was this very cool guy having bass lesson before me and he's tactics were WOW. like WOW. THIS GUY IS SO COOL. i dunno. he looked like he's in JC. and he has big hands and long fingers!!!!! i envy!!!!

and jiaying's words came flowing back to me.

"now the cool thing is brakedancing. next time i have a kid, then i'll send him for brakedancing lessons. haha. but maybe next time the cool thing is not brakedancing already."

no matter how hard, how groovy, how lame, or how stupid they were in band, they all looking beautiful and graceful on prom night.

and i just dun noe wat to say.

thursday went to have section lunch with eugenia, wy quin, and jacey. cheryl, xiaohui and jasmine didnt come. jasmine so stupid lorh. went to school early in the morning just to play bridge with melissa and jiaying. then we discussed about what to give sec 4s meaning yixi, elissa and wy quin.

then eugenia told us damn funny.

"haiz. non-band people wont understand what we band people do. you know horns and tubas produce the most saliva right? then horns got the "kong" to empty their saliva, tubas use newspaper. then got one time i went into the bandroom and saw this group of people lying ON THE FLOOR."

do you have any idea how DIRTY the floor of the bandroom is? that's probably one reason why we bandees wear socks in the band room.

"then they were using the "kong" for a birthday present or something, i dunno."

excuse me? do you know that that "kong" is used for our SALIVA? and horns produce ALOT of SALIVA.

"then i was like "erm do you know that that thing is used to empty saliva?" that girl almost dropped the "kong" "

oh. and the auditorium's stage floor is going to be really disgusting. please dont look at it after we clear off.

friday went to beauty world with eugenia and jacey and cheryl to buy shoes for band concert.

the shoes are slippery. and they are so ex. jacey is lame. but she has same foot size as me."

today went for alumni band prac. eugenia was taking jasmine. then mr lee took us for finale. very few jc people came back. finale and japanese impressions are stuck in my head. japanese impressions is so cute!!!!

eugenia took me and jas after that. then went home with jasmine. the trip home was silent. guess jasmine was pissed about something. let's hope its not me.

and there's bass lesson today. i havent even practiced the pieces.

and i still dont get the story behind finale and festivo. i just know how to play jiu3 shi4 le4. but i understand the last part of finale. cos mr lee said it was the part where they finally reached home. that's why it's called "A New World Symphony." they found a new world and er went home?

i dun see a the story behind festivo at all. just know it's exciting.

and it seems that all nice songs have majestic beginnings, soft and sweet and gentle middles and majestic and "happy" endings.

let's see. 7th night, persis, finale, festivo and fate of gods all have the same pattern as the above.

persis builds up the tension here and there, but fate of gods does it at the beginning where they slowly build up the tension. o.O

but the exception is rosa. it does not have majestic beginnings, soft and sweet and gentle middles and majestic and "happy" endings. but it has soft and sweet beginnings, majestic and tension-building middles and soft and sweet endings.

maybe that's the reason why some people dont like it. dunno.

but yay! i can tell the story of rosa!

monday had band prac.

reported at 8. ban1 instruments down was heavy work. but putting raisers up was worse.

strings ensems people came again. we talked. did not find her as scary as yibing. haha.

they had raisers for trumpets, trombones and drumset, but no raisers for double basses!!! then cannot see us. we hiding behind the curtains. arbish them lah. cannot see us, then we there for wat? cannot see timpani also. should have put the timpani on the raisers.

then we ran through the programme. stupid bow. got stuck again. too much rosin. no sound. sheesh.

and xiaohui dropped her bassoon. elissa see le pa4 pa4. haha. now bass section have to run about 12 rounds? 3 because i drop bow, 9 because xiaohui dropped bassoon.

sigh.

very cold. me and eugenia shivering like mad. dunno how we going to perform on concert. two and a half hours standing there. then eugenia say all basses people laugh funnily. and boith cheryls whine and laugh like crazy. especially big cheryl. can tell can tell.

then we went curry wok as the whole bass section. (euphos+bassoons+tubas+double bass)

at first jasmine thought eugenia said "curry walk" then she asked: "are we going to eat there or walk there?"

funny funny so funny.

then the food was quite nice. jacey very lame lorh. but lame people are funny.

then eugenia say yanzhen was abit siao.

but jasmine and melissa more siao. laugh like mad all the way to curry wok.

then after lunch we had sectionals with trumpets. ran through rosa, gershwin, ray charles.

then we took section photo for concert!

we (tuba+double bass+bassoons) dunno what and where to take.

actually jasmine suggested to do a serious pose and then put "serious bass-ness" at the bottom.

so we ended up taking a "family monkey photo" instead.

alumni people are cool.

and horns very zai3. they dance when they count the bars. wow.

finale is nice k. but difficult to play. cos got alot of running notes and alot of appegios and the tempo very very fast. then it's like, when you play, you get excited, then the tempo very fast, then you get more and more excited then you'll play like damn fast then you somehow get inspired to play faster.

it's difficult that's why only alumni band play it mah.

yesterday band prac was funny. jasmine found a cockroach in her bass and christal er appearantly crushed it to death. see. told you christal was ZAI3

then today string ensem people came to prac with us. then we practised rhapsody and finale and some other stuff. then we heard perc ensem play.

sigh. they not playing brazillian strret dance anymore. playing japanmese impressions and easy winners instead. that means im not playing in the percussion solo. sigh. brazillian sounds so much nicer than japenese impressions. japanese impressions is eerie. then christal was playing the timpani. and elissa said: "woah. christal very pro orh."

then me, jasmine, pearlynne, and hui juanwent home together.
